Q: How can I help out with the development of the John Jay Community Trail?

A: Thanks for asking! You can help in a number of ways:

1.) We are always looking for volunteers to help us build the trail, bridges, and boardwalks. As of Winter 2022, we are entering the home stretch for building and have most structures in place. We are still working on the Final Link Boardwalk and Trail. We aim to be finished in time for the Spring 2022 JJTrail Races — and with plenty of time before the Fall 2022 JJXC season. Information on Volunteering is here.

2.) We are in the “Final Link Fundraiser” phase of raising money to complete the trail. Our goal of $5,000 for the winter/spring push is underway and we are over halfway there. Please contribute if you can. Any amount is appreciated. Details can be found at the Donate page here.

Q: What are the award categories for the 5K?

A: We have overall prizes for the overall male and female first place finishers.

In addition we have 1st-2nd-3rd place awards in 13U, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+ in both male and female categories.

Q: What are the prizes for the 5K?

A: Pies – the higher you finish, the bigger the pie. For pie photos click here.

Note: You have to be there at the awards ceremony to collect your pie. Since they are fresh pies made with no preservatives we can’t keep pies after the race. If you have to leave and you know you have won an award or category please see one of the organizers. Thanks for understanding!

Pies from Dutch Desserts are race prizes.

Q: What are the award categories for the Kids Jay Dash?

A: Awards are given to first to finish (boy and girl) and to the first overall finisher in each age and gender group. So there will be a prize for F10, M10, F9, M9, F8, M8, etc. Prizes are pies. Also — the first 30 kids to register get a race t-shirt!
